FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Super Petrel USA 4th Annual Tri-Fecta Event Coming November 2024 The event starts Wednesday, November 6th 2024. Super Petrel USA along with Wings of Gold Aviation and Scoda Aeronautica will once again be the hosts. This is our annual pilot safety and maintenance training event.
Wednesday, November 6th: Meet and greet. There will be a “Sea Stories Ice Breaker” lead by our Navy guys, beginning at 6:00 PM. If you have an interest in the Super Petrel aircraft and just want to know more about the aircraft and the company, sign up. This is a great opportunity to meet owners and take a demo flight in the Super Petrel XP. Demo Flights will be charged at $100 per person, this is a separate charge from the Tri-Fecta course. The price of the course ($400) and the demo flight will be applied to the purchase of a new XP aircraft. The flights will run about 30 minutes in length.
This training event is FREE of charge for Qualified FAA LSRM and A&P aircraft maintainers.
Thursday, November 7th: Class begins at 8:30 AM and continues until 4:30 PM. This first day will begin with an introduction by Roger Helton, President of Super Petrel USA. He will address the “State of the Company” health report of SPUSA. Followed by Rodrigo Scoda, President of Scoda Aeronautica who will address the “State of the Company” health report on Scoda Aeronautica in Brazil. Additionally emphasizing the continued support commitment for the legacy Super Petrel LS aircraft as well as the new XP.
Brad Brinsing, Manager of GARMIN Experimental / LSA Sales, will present the latest updates from Garmin such as the 8.33khz spacing transceivers, the next generation of the G3X and much more. Get your questions ready.
Eddie Ronveaux from Rotech in Vernon BC Canada will present the new Rotax 916iS engine in detail as he did in the past with the Rotax 915iS.
Retired Admiral Bill Gortney, our SPUSA Director of Safety, will focus on Airmanship, Flight Safety and Mishap Review. Flying and Aviation Risk Management will be presented by Dan Pedersen our SPUSA Vice President and Chief Pilot. Beginning after the lunch break (provided) the afternoon maintenance session will be presented by Mark Ziegler (Ziggy) our Director of Maintenance and lead Customer Support expert with the focus on what maintenance owners may perform on their own aircraft.
Friday, November 8th: Class begins at 8:30 AM and continues until 4:30 PM. Mark Ziegler (Ziggy) will focus on the 100 hour and 5-year Compliance Inspection check list. Also covered will be special interest items to include Rudder Stop Repair, Seat Attachment Repair, and Propeller Balancing. Maintenance items, Engine Oil and Filter change, Engine and Wing Torquing, Landing Gear inspection and Gas Spring testing, Wheel Bearings replacement, and more.
The Rotax Line Maintenance Manual checklist will be discussed as it is part of the inspection process. The Rotax new Line Maintenance manual can be downloaded. Day two will conclude with an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at Scoda Aeronautica and the production of the XP aircraft.
Saturday, November 9th: Class begins at 8:30 AM and continues until around 3:00 PM. This last day is a wrap up day to complete the Annual Inspection and answer any questions. The purpose of the Tri-Fecta is to focus primarily on three areas, Safety, Maintenance and Aircraft Equipment updates. And of course, to meet other owners.
The cost per person for the training event is $400.00 and can be paid by credit card, check or cash at the beginning of class on Thursday 7 November. Lunch will be served each day at the hangar. Chef Gortney at the helm.
